Absolutely terrible practices. These a-holes keep stealing more and more of creators money.

I've made $35K+ through Gumroad and all they did is continuously increasing pricing, and fees, and now they won't even refund the fees any more.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS

Gumroad is a complete s*** show and should be removed from the internet entirely!!!!!!! They're a bunch of thieves and will hold money from creators!!!! They held payment from me for 2 months and I had to fight to get them to pay me!!!!! Avoid this site if you're a Creator at all costs,, you have been warned!!!!!!!

The seller here takes the code from pirated code sharing sites and sells it, scam.

Bad UI/UX, one of the ugliest site I have never come across with.

I think trustpilot should add 0 rating for this type of scammer website. They don't even qualify for 1 star rating!
I added a product on that site a few days ago. After some advertise on social media find some customers. I serve digital portrait service. So, they pay and leave with their service.
Today I visit the site to place a payout. But notice that my account is suspended whole try to login. There is no notice about it. Even don't get any mail. All customer pay on last month. Its almost 10-12 days from selling and today they lock my account with even telling any reason.
Most importantly, f--k about this type of company's customer support. They don't have any customer support without a email! Never reply on mail. Too arrogant on mail.
Never open a shop on gumroad unless want some thief run away with your money.

GumRoad helps digital creators lift their products off the ground - without a headache

I have been a GumRoad seller since February 3, 2023 and have actively sold products for 50 days of writing this review.

Prior to GumRoad, my tech stack was a 100 foot-tall, semi-integrated rollercoaster. Every single day, something broke. Websites, Plugins, Affiliate Tracking, Order Tracking, Marketing, SEO, Review plugins... it was all too much -- this is coming from a developer with over a decade of web development experience.

Fast forward to March 25, 2023 - I have since sold $9,170 worth of software subscriptions for my SaaS company on a handy little platform called GumRoad.

My affiliates generated over 50% of those sales and took home a nice commission on those orders.

Thanks to GumRoad's ease of access and delightful customer experience, my clients have found the buying process from me to be simple and trustworthy.

In fact, after selling over 100 license keys on recurring subscriptions, although early in my journey, I have not yet had:

- a single cancelled subscription
- had to issue a refund
- or had any review less than 5 stars (my product is pretty good!) ;)

Of course, I am still a new seller, and yes things could probably change over time, but there is zero question in my mind:

GumRoad made it easier for my customers to understand my product, purchase a license and manage their account. Therefore I believe selling on GumRoad has specifically been the driving factor to my success thus far.

As a business owner, I trust their team too, because I can see day by day on blogs, dashboard updates and company roadmaps that the small San Fransisco team at GumRoad is truly excited about what they do and who they represent:

The digital creators of tomorrow.

So if you are on the fence about becoming a seller on GumRoad, I would ask you one question:

Why go through all the pain of setting up a massive web of software to sell your digital product when GumRoad can do it for you in 1 swift motion?

That's why I love GumRoad. It's simply the best way to sell online.

- Product bought didn't work as intended. No clear way to refund, no real verification of products in general, definitely a buy at your own risk situation. The whole UX in general on that site is pretty bad.

- Along with what another poster here wrote, after purchasing from this site, I got notifications that my card got shut down. There were over 100 attempted fraudulent charges in the space of 1 day and ended up needing a new card, so clearly back end information either isn't protected, is actively used, or vendors are allowed to ship straight up malware.

- You can find what you need from other places, don't use this site.

They blocked my account from purchases after i've issued chargeback on item from cheating creator. I paid for course which was never released. Support give me 2 options: drop the charges or create new account with different payment method. This company is a ducking joke. Do not use it!

Got suspended out of know where with no prior warning after my first sale. They just f***ing suspected a transfer and immediately closed my account JUST SUSSPECTED!!. Totally not recommended and a waste of time

It's the absolutely worst platform for creators. I've uploaded my digital products, graphic assets on their platform but nobody can actually buy them. Everytime someone tries to pay, it says there was a problem try later. I've spent a few hours of my life uploading my products on a platform which doesn't work. NEVER AS A CREATOR DO NOT CHOSE GUMROAD. Try payhip, shopify, anything but gumroad.

I've had great experience with Gumroad as a seller and buyer.

It has all the tools I need and more. Support is *super* responsive and helpful.

From my experience, everything with the website is completely fine. Transactions, encryptions and usability are perfectly functional and I have 0 issues with it. I'm not sure where your worries are coming from, perhaps people buy from untrustworthy sources, without doing their research. Would recommend spending your own time figuring out if something is legit or not and actually find information about the seller. The site itself is great.

First time I used this service I got scammed out of two shirts, got some fraudulent charges on my card to the point where I had to change it, and when I asked for a refund just for the two shirts they just do the same garbage soulless thing that does nothing that every shady corporation does which is just send some long automated email with no actual help. WARNING DO NOT EVER USE GUMROAD AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO STAY AWAY FROM IT!!! IF YOUVE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE LEAVE A BAD REVIEW. GIVE THEM THE MESSAGE.

I bought an app, but it turned out I need to buy another product to make it work, then I decided not to use that app. I asked for a refund, but nothing but an automatic message was sent, it said that it can be returned. 24 hours later I got a response that I can't get a refund. I mean I never use this app, So how is that possible? I never get anything from Gumroad and Support Board again!
